THIS INTENSIVE IS SOLD OUT!

LOOKING BEHIND THE GLASS with DISNEY TV CASTING DIRECTORS SARA GOLDBERG SHERMAN & AARON DROWN

Week 1 - MAY 12th - Introduction to Animation & Cold-Read Auditions
As an introduction to Animation, the class will be watching a sampling of
animated shows, and talking about the different acting styles in each example.
The second part of class will be focused on Cold-Reading. Audition sides will be
distributed and each actor will choose one that suits their strengths. The class
will discuss character creation and dissecting sides.

Week 2 - MAY 19th -  Prepared Audition Class
Each actor will prepare 2 audition sides, which they will perform. The emphasis
of the class will be on finding your voice, knowing your strengths, ad-libs and
improvisation, making strong choices, differentiating yourself from others, and
competing against the professional voice-actors.

Week 3 - MAY 26th -  Table-Reading
The class will be doing an ensemble table-read of two animated episodes, and
then the class will watch the actual episodes and discuss.
Q & A at the end of class.

Week 4 - JUNE 2nd - The Casting Process - A Peek Behind The Glass
Actors will be performing an audition again with new sides, and then the class
will trace those auditions through the actual casting process to illustrate how
the process works.

Actors will play the role of executive, and will get to pick and choose which
auditions get eliminated, who gets presented to the bosses, which voice was
actually cast then fired and who was recast, and so on. This will give the class
a better idea of how Animation Casting works.
